New Business
The FCC has proposed that the Code requirement be eliminated for the General Class license. The proposal is presented to the public and the public has a chance to respond. Then a ruling will be made in about 60 days. The Code will still be required for the Extra Class.
The 9434 repeater will be worked on this weekend. There was some RF leakage, but will be repaired. It is anticipated that it should be back in business in a couple of weeks.
Hamfest
There will be a meeting the Friday, August 12 @ 7PM here at the club in order to prepare for the Hamfest on August 13. There will be stickers that will be used to indicate who has paid the entrance fee. There will be people patrolling the outside area to ensure that everyone has a sticker.
The doors will open for set up at 6:30 AM. We are charging $5.00 extra for electricity. It was discussed who would volunteer for what positions. There will not be a PA system, but there will be announcements on 147.400. Testing will be upstairs.
The club table will be set up and if anybody wishes to have their personal items put on the table for sale, please provide a price and an envelope for the money. The club table will sell it for 10% of the sale price.
